The Apex Digital MP2000 portable media player is a rugged and sturdy looking unit. Weighing 8oz the MP2000 sports a 3.5 inch TFT screen and a built in speaker. The media player is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which claims to run for over 7 hours playing audio with the screen switched off.
The built in 20GB hard drive should is sufficient to hold most peoples entire music collection and thousands of images. The Apex MP200 also has a built in microphone enabling you to use it as a Dictaphone.
A diverse array of video formats are supported including MP4, DivX 4 and 5, Motion JPEG and WMV. Audio formats supported include MP3 and WMA whilst photos in JPEG, GIF, BMP and TIF can be displayed.
You will need Windows 98SE or better to use the supplied software to connect to the MP2000 using USB2.0, USB1.1 is also supported..
As well as playing back video through the MP2000's built in screen or via a television you can also record video from any device with an AV output. The TFT display shows a respectable 480 x 234 pixels and has a backlight to increase the brightness of the screen.
