The i-Station i2 portable media player is available in a 20GB silver version or the larger 30GB black version. The i2 or the PuMP as they call it works with Windows 98SE and up as well as the Macintosh. You can play video, music and view your photographs and record audio from the in built speaker or the FM radio. Unfortunately there is no direct video recording ability.
The selling point of the i2 PMP is it's support for many of the popular video and music formats. There is a USB host built into this player so you can connect other USB devices to the i2 and transfer files. As well as a built in FM radio there is also a text viewer so you can read any text files you copy onto the i2. A touch screen is also used for navigation rather than buttons on most other players.
This is one of the lightest portable media players I have seen weighing only 246 grams which is about 8.5 ounces. The unit measures 123mm x 76.8mm x 21.5mm which in inches equates to approximately 5 x 3 x 1 inch, which is small enough to get into your pocket. The i2 is powered by a Lithium Polymer battery which is detachable and claims to last for 7 hours during video playback.
As I mentioned earlier the i-Station i2 supports a wide range of video and audio formats. Video files in DivX 3.11 to 5.xx, Xvid and MPEG 1,2 and 4. Audio is supported in MP3, WMA, OGG, AC3 and AAC. Photos can be viewed in JPEG, BMP and PNG up to 4000 x 3000 pixels. TV out is supported via S-video (NTSC or PAL).
There is a 3.5 inch LCD display that has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels so the casing is not much larger than the screen. There is an LCD remote available but you do not get this as standard, you have buy this as an extra.
